Day 2: Trek to Nyabitaba Camp (2,600m)
Begin the trek from Nyakalengija gate, hiking through tropical rainforest and bamboo zones. The trail is steep and slippery but scenic, with waterfalls and diverse birdlife. Reach Nyabitaba Camp for your first overnight stay in the mountains.

Day 3: Trek to Bujuku Camp (3,350m)
Ascend through montane forest into heath and giant groundsels zones. The terrain becomes steeper and wetter. Along the way, enjoy views of waterfalls and rare flora. Arrive at Bujuku Camp near the stunning Bujuku Valley for the night.

Day 4: Trek to Kitandara Camp (3,960m)
Cross the Bujuku Valley and climb into the alpine zone. The trail passes through moorlands with giant lobelias and heathers. Kitandara Camp offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.

Day 5: Trek to Elena Camp (4,350m)
Continue ascending to Elena Camp, crossing glacial streams and rocky terrain. This camp is a base for summit attempts and offers breathtaking views of the Margherita Glacier and surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Summit Margherita Peak (5,109m) and descend to Elena Camp
Begin the early morning climb to Margherita Peak, Africa’s third highest summit. The climb involves some scrambling over rocks and ice but rewards you with panoramic views of the Rwenzori range and beyond. Descend back to Elena Camp for rest.

Day 7: Trek to John Matte Camp (3,500m)
Descend through alpine meadows and moorlands to John Matte Camp. Enjoy the changing vegetation and views of waterfalls and valleys. This camp is known for its scenic beauty and restful atmosphere.

Day 8: Trek to Nyakalengija Gate and return to Kasese/Fort Portal
Descend through bamboo and forest zones back to the park gate. Transfer to Kasese or Fort Portal for a well-deserved rest and overnight stay.

Day 9: Departure
Travel back to Kampala or continue your Uganda adventure with optional safaris or cultural tours.
